American Girl

I wrote this song shortly after viewing The Invisible War, a movie about the high number of women, some one in three, raped while serving in the US Military. Now I understand that only a small fraction of these guys are doing the raping and most service men and women are going way beyond the call of duty in serving our country. But some men think that rape is ok and many of these men go into the service. Men like this need to be helped and their women victims need help. I only want to shine a light on a problem, to state what is the aftermath of this abuse in the hopes that with light comes understanding, with understanding comes change.

This was made before all the audio engineering classes so I’m hoping to re-record a better quality sometime soon and of course solicit some help from the collaborative website called KOMPOZ which allows people to collaborate by adding and mixing tracks.
