A Broken Heart Knows the Truth (Song for Fina)

I wrote this song for a friend, who called me one night many years ago now from Wimberly, Texas to tell me that her cowboy had broken her heart. I drove out from Austin to spend some time and see what I could do, nothing really as you know. So I did the only really helpful thing I knew, went home and wrote a song, :). Love unrequited paints us over — this comes from being a poor artist so mostly when I’m not that happy with a painting, I can just re-gesso and start again, totally new scene.
