Egret – Construction and Details

Walking down by the neighborhood pond the other day, there were some egrets in the shallows. I’m wondering how they keep those feathers so snowy  white. Below is a gallery of photos of my exploration of the egret in fabric. I never know how these things are going to turn out because the thread painting changes things so but I’ll be updating the progress I make over the next few weeks.
